As
a teenage car "nut" in the 1950s I had read
about Vintage Bentleys and had put them at the top of
my list of the 10 most desirable cars that I hoped to
one day own. My first actual exposure to them came in
1975 on a vacation to England. The sight and burbling
exhaust sounds of Vintage Bentleys racing at Silverstone
confirmed my desire to own one. The proud moment occurred
in 1981 with the purchase of a 1925 3 Litre Speed Model
(Chassis
No. 869).
I don't know everything about Vintage Bentleys. I would
like to, but the next best thing is to know everyone
who does know something about Vintage Bentleys. This
website is an attempt to connect everyone interested
in Vintage Bentleys so we can share information and
help each other.
This website is dedicated to Vintage Bentley
owners and enthusiasts around the world not a
club, nor is it affiliated with
any club, but an organization devoted to the collection
of information on Vintage Bentleys. Our goal is to provide
knowledge and help in preserving and enjoying the cars
built by W. O. Bentley from 1919 through 1931. Our organization
has no membership requirements, dues or activities.
We offer assistance and support to all Vintage Bentley
owners and enthusiasts whether or not they are members
of any club. We do, however, recommend that all Vintage
Bentley owners take advantage of the opportunities clubs
afford for camaraderie, events, parts exchange and support.
Our objective is to know our cars so thoroughly that,
when we participate in club events (i.e. vintage racing,
concours, etc.), they will look and run perfectly. This
is accomplished by discussing our cars with individuals
who are knowledgeable. We are "hands-on" enthusiasts.
VintageBentley.org will be operated at our own discretion
and we reserve the right to determine what will appear
on this web site.
This is a brand new web site, officially launched February
12, 2007, and we are actively seeking your input. Get
in on the ground floor of the most comprehensive Vintage
Bentley web site ever built.
