As described in Michael Hay's "Bentley: The Vintage Years" - 1997: "The "Bathtub" as fitted to the Light Tourer chassis in 1925."

"This car is probably Chassis no. 1145. The job numbers visible on the photos are Charles Bowers. From a listing of Bowers photos compiled by Tom Clarke, jobs 2950-51 were taken July 17, 1925 and the job was for Bentley Motors (not for Vanden Plas). Using Hay's chassis listing, chassis 1145 was a short standard VdP tourer, Bentley's showroom demonstrator, guarantee date July 1925.
