"...These were first
fitted as standard production on the 1926
short chassis (Red Label) 3 Litre Sports
model, but the owners of some earlier cars
had them made up to their own order by both
the Gallay Radiator Company and the Searl
Radiator Co.; I remember we fitted a few
at the Service in Kingsbury, and the radiators
were sent to either of the above firms for
the stoneguards to be made up.
I cannot recall any particular instance
where this was done, and this modification
might not have been considered of sufficient
importance to have warranted an entry in
the Chassis Log Books, although some may
have been, but this can only be established
by reading through the books..."
