Lady Reynolds' Chassis KL3583 when new

Contributed by Martin Trentham (Grandson of former owner)

A 'Sold' sign was spotted in 2011 for KL3583 on the 'San Diego Collection' website announcing that it had gone to Alaska. The accompanying text stated: "It was purchased new by Lady Reynolds in 1929 with a Freestone and Webb Salon Coach. Lady Reynolds purchased the vehicle for her son who was off to University and presented him with the car as a present. After receiving the car the son opted to return the car to Bentley and ordered a Freestone and Webb Racing Skiff Coachwork to replace the Salon body."

Incorrect reporting of history retorts Lady Reynolds' grandson, Martin Trentham

In April 2018, Lady Reynolds' grandson Martin Trentham wrote to VintageBentleys.org saying, "The first owner, Lady Reynolds, was my grandmother. The info posted by San Diego Collection is incorrect. She sold the car after about one year. None of her sons went to university, and it was not sent back to Bentley Motors for a body change. All of those changes must have happened at a much later date. Here are photos of the car when new."
