Meet Ethel in her FB3303 avatar
Contributed by Simon Laidlaw (Owner since 2003)"Famously known as 'Ethel' this car has an 'R' type engine from a MkVI and was raced extensively in the 1970s whilst wearing its previous chassis, ST3001. The chassis is currently under a 1925 Gurney Nutting saloon body.
Chassis FB3303 is the current chassis on the car with the Registration SC 3206.
The registration number
was YH3196 (Old Mother Gun) when the car had Chassis ST3001. When the chassis were swapped in the late 1980s all the
components other than the axles and chassis were retained. The axles and chassis,
which were from the Le-Mans car were used to build up the current Old Mother Gun car
which now resides in Japan or China."
