If the day is about man conquering time, the evening is about the beauty of nature. We drive back through idyllic countryside to a small restaurant on the edge of the canyon at Creux Du Van. Franco has organised something very special for us – we follow two pipers across a field where just beyond its perimeter wall is a sheer drop of hundreds of feet. The pipers stand on the rocks, their long pipes resting inches from the edge of the precipice, and play beautiful haunting melodies as the sun begins to set. |
