1927 Bentley 3/4½ Litre Vanden Plas Bodied Speed Model
A matching numbered 3/4½ Litre Speed Model with continuous history from new in first class condition and with the benefit of a recent engine rebuild with Phoenix crank and rods. Driving just as a proper vintage Bentley should. Ideal for long distance touring or rally events.

This Vanden Plas coachwork was fitted in 1935 to replace what had already become unfashionable saloon coachwork by Carbodies of Coventry. The recipient of a restoration by marque specialist Clive Oliver 14 years ago this vintage Bentley has been maintained regardless of expense and the quality shows throughout. The history files show a record of the continuous ownership from new and the work carried out by the Bentley service department in period.

A very special vintage Bentley which is delightful to drive and with all the hard work done. Matching numbered, original Vanden Plas coachwork, continuous history, mechanically and cosmetically excellent and ready to go.

This car is for sale as of January 7, 2020

"1927 VDP 3 Litre Bentley Speed Model
Chassis No. LT1599 ~ Engine No. LT1600

This speed model is from the last year of production, benefiting from all the improvements that eventually went into the 4½ Litre. These include heavy gauge chassis, one piece sump and factory fitted higher ratio steering. The car also benefits from VDP open sports coachwork, fitted in 1934, as its second body.

The car is in exceptional condition and benefits from a painstaking meticulous restoration, concluding around 2006, by mark specialist Clive Oliver. Since then the car has had 2 careful owners who have looked after her with no expense spared.

The car benefits from unbroken continuous history, is in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition and is matching numbers throughout."
