"Chassis no: SR1416
Engine no: SR1425
Registration no: YO 6755
Year of purchase: 2015
I have a listing of owners' names and dates from 1926 to 1956 which I would
like to lodge with your site as part of the continuous history of SR1416. You
already show some of this information. Please insert as appropriate to fill in the
years between 1935 and Peter Scilitto's ownership in 1956. Please note, this
information was provided by Mr Scillitto within the cars history files etc.
Will see shat I can scan for you in the way of older images but most are 50/60's.
There are quite a few of the body change."

FJM's 1926 Bentley 3 litre
restored by Dr Shillito, 1981
"I have been looking
through my grandfather John Milward's albums
and found this one... My grandfather went
to see his old 3 litre in 1981, having been
restored by Dr Sillito (according to the
note by the photo), who I assume was a later
owner."
("I am not sure which is the correct
spelling Sillito or Shillito?")

"This Bentley 3 Litre
Speed Model by Freestone & Webb was
delivered June 1926; Chassis No. SR1416,
Engine No. SR1425 (don't be confused if
ever someone might point out that a 3 Litre
with Engine No. SR1416 did exist, too. That
is correct. Engine No. SR1416 was fitted
to Chassis No. SR1414.) First owner was
C.G. Newling who ordered a Saloon body by
Freestone & Webb (so-called "Weymann-Saloon"
because it was built to the patented Weymann
method which resulted in a particularly
light and rattlefree body)."
