According to Michael Hay, Chassis no. 1153 was fitted with a 4 1/2 litre engine, plate clutch and C type gearbox by Bentley Service in 1935.

  More Info: According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 1202 with a Short standard 4-seater; grey / black; 9/1925.

Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body no. 1202. HMB c/o Showrooms. Now 4 seater by Harben engine XL 3119. 4½ Litre axle and steering. Previously engine TX 3226 fitted 1935 by BM Service with plate clutch and C box."
