Mulsanne village - June 16, 2007

"We were about 50 Bentleys, the W.O. were well represented. Wwe gathered at Mulsanne village at 7am on Saturday June 16th before the start of the big race. After a briefing and a warm up lap the sky opened up and we did the remaining three laps on the Sarthe circuit in a heavy down poor with windscreens down of course. Due to the very slick roads the bigger cars had a hard time not skidding coming out of the corners but we had fun anyway, limiting the max speed to about 80mph. Shortly after we finished our laps the weather improved and the big race was off to a dry start and the wet drivers enjoyed a champagne breakfast."

"This is a rather super looking 1924 Bentley 3 Litre Red Label Speed Model finished in the classic colours of British Racing Green with matching leather interior.

Restored some 5 years ago to an excellent condition (very useable not concours) she has benefited from an engine rebuild, chassis and paint.

Over time all it has lost is its original registration number. This had found its way onto another vintage Bentley some 60 years ago. This is not unusual for cars that were being raced in the 50's."
