"...I thought you would like to know that I visited Sweden on holiday a couple of weeks ago and was gobsmacked to bump into 16 W.O. Bentleys on a two-week holiday! We followed them for a while and filmed them with a camcorder..."

"Hello Robert,
I've been given another old photo of my car, chassis 333. Thought you might like to add it to your register.
Nick Poll."

==

"Hi Nick

My family thinks this photo was taken on Cleethorpes promenade sometime between 1950 and 1955. The best guess is that it may have been a parade during the coronation celebrations. At the time the car was owned by Mr Marshall (you probably already have this info). He came from a family of wealthy landowners and farmers who also owned the Victoria Flour Mill and the Blue Star Garage.

My Grandfather is the gentleman in the rear right seat. His name was David Gentle and when the War broke he stopped working on the Fly Scotsman and started work assembling jeeps (British and later American). When the war ended he started working for Mr Marshall at his Blue Star Garage.

Later he set up his own garage the Hawthorne Service Station and worked that until he retired.

I remember this photo as a child and have only just unearthed it.

If you have any more info about the car then I’d love to hear about it.

Best regards
Marc"
