"The Bentley of Alex Bell and Peter Bradfield was spotted stopped on the verge just before the Humber Bridge with the crew peering underneath the car. Unfortunately they were forced to retire with what was a catastrophic oil pump failure."

  More Info: According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 3244.

Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body no. 3244. 4 seater then saloon then breakdown with Crane then 2 seater. Dismantled, subsequently rebuilt as 3/41/2 - 41/2 engine, radiator bulkhead etc, BS box. 4 seater by H&H ex.MS 3934."
