"I refer to your February 2019 newsletter cover.

I am currently the owner of the 3 litre Bentley as per the photograph, owned by L.W. Spratt in 1931. (We were sent this article via some BDC members that recognised it.) I purchased this car from Kobus van Jaarsveld in 2017 and have done several trips in South Africa covering a total of +5000km.

This car is entered for the 2020 International Bentley Tour in South Africa.

Just to let you know that it was re-registered since the photos in December 2018 (when the registration was JSL472 GP). The new number is CAW 49753"

Car in photograph was owned by L.W. Spratt.

We received this photograph from Jenny Mercer with the following comment, "This is the only photograph I have is of my father racing his 3 litre Bentley in February 1931 which was taken by a photographer for 'The Motor'. However I will get on to my sisters who may have some other photos though I don't hold out any hope of finding the chassis number, but if I find any further info/photos etc that may be of interest I'll forward them for your experts to look at. In the meantime I would be most grateful for any light that you can throw on this subject."

L.W. Spratt came second in Ewelme Down Inter Varsity event in February 1931.
