"Top of any vintage Bentley aficionados shopping list is the Speed Six.

With a short production run of just two years and scoring victories in major events of that period the up rated sports 6½ litre is justifiable proud as WO Bentley's best.

With less than half of the original product still about finding a good one becomes a bit of an exercise.

This 1929 Speed Six is the classic.

In 1929 the bonnet line is some 2 inches lower than on the 1930 model and gives the car a much better look than the later model.

The Speed Six that raced were also low line cars similar to this one.

All the parts on this car are as it had when leaving the factory in 1929 but the body is later this a VDP Le Mans style put on by Elmdown Vintage some 30 years ago.

Mechanically, she's in great shape benefiting from a complete engine rebuild which included Phoenix crank and rods. This work was done by leading Bentley restorers, NDR racing of Watford in 1999."
