"Interested
to find this, as this is my father's
car. I am the one pictured driving
it in the most recent shot, and the
photos at the bottom are my grandfather.
It is a wonderful car! It underwent
a complete bare chassis restoration
from 1991-1993, and is still driven
regularly with gusto by my father,
Bill Johnson. Wonderful to find these
old pictures of it!" |

"My grandfather bought TD 4512 in 1963 from England. The previous English owner — Guy Shoesmith I believe — came over to visit
the car in the 90s at my father's home. I can track down his notes on it. Talking with my father, he mentioned Shoesmith was the one who undertook the 4.5
conversion. He employed Johnny Green in England. Mike Hawthorn also drove TD 4512
while it was owned by Shoesmith, I believe." |
