This vehicle was purchased on 14 February 1939 for the sum of £10 by the Lancashire Constabulary for use on the skid pan. It was sold in December 1949 to F H Landers esq of Maghull, Liverpool for £78.10 shillings.

"I am a member of the staff of the Lancashire Constabulary Motor Driving School. I am researching the history of the School and among many documents etc I found a photograph of the said vehicle. This vehicle was used on the skid pan 1938 and is being driven by PC Ricketts who was a student on an Advanced Driving Course. It is believed that the instructor standing in the rear is Police Constable Ted Threlfall."
