"I notice that Hay states (at the bottom of this page - Ed) that the car was found derelict in 1971, this information is not quite accurate. I purchased the car in 1971 as a result of an advertisement. When I viewed the car it was in a dry secure garage with the rear end up on blocks and the back axle dismantled. The owner told me that it had broken its crown wheel and pinion circa 1959/60, he had stripped out the diff assembly but got no further other than finding a replacement 4 star diff and c.w.p. The car was very complete and very sound, it was far from derelict as stated by Hay. I believe that its long lay up in the garage saved its originality. It is a very original example of a V.D.P. four seater TT model. The coach work was restored by Jim Pearce."

"I have owned my 3 Litre SD 7146 since 1971 and rebuilt it 1972 to 1981 since when it has had extensive usage both in the UK and across Europe. It is chassis 205, engine 211, TT Model still fitted with its original V.D.P. (1917 Ltd) 4 seater sports coach work, from research that I and others have carried out it is the first 4 seater sports body that V.D.P. fitted to a vintage Bentley. There was a photo of the car in the Review a couple of years ago taken outside the Club offices."
