Philippe De Smet responding to former owner George Kerr's grandson Edward Stone (scroll down to see 1930s photos):

"What a great surprise! These photos make me very happy...

I own MK 1007 since 1999. I bought her in England of course. She has been rebuilt in the 60’ to her actual form by a Bentley Drivers Club hero named Len Wilton. He rebuilt the car as a replica from “Old number 7” the winning Le Mans car in 1927. I had a chance to meet Len Wilton some 4 years ago. During his ownership chassis 1198 had the UK registration MK 5206. I still have to inform Robert Mclellan about all this!

The car is doing very well, I still enjoy driving her and of course you are the most welcome to come and visit us..."

Chassis 1198 is now a 3/4½ with Engine No. PL3486. The car was rebuilt as a Le Mans "Old Number Seven" replica and was in that form until 1999. Windscreen was broken and replaced by twin aero windscreens. Engine was rebuilt in 2005 with the help of Graham Moss who rebuilt the cross shaft gear, water pump & magnetos.

The car was bought by Philippe De Smet of Belgium in 1999.

"This photograph (left above) shows my grandfather and was taken in Scotland, near Erskine outside Glasgow I believe.... My grandfather used to race in the 1930s... If MK 1007 is now in Belgium, it would be great to see her..."

"Dear Philippe, Here are a few more photos. Subject to distorted memories, my grandfather and his brother bought the car together for £100 to drive to Naples for their sister's wedding..."

"I believe my grandfather, Goerge Kerr, owned this car (1930s sometime) and I was curious to find out what happened to it! Will dig out some photos."
