"This car is now in Sydney, Australia "

The car in above photograph has been identified as Chassis No. PH1453 by Phillip Schudmak. — Sep 11, 2011

This one was up for auction in Australia. Shannons offered it during their Motorshow at Melbourne auction in 2004. With an estimate ranging from 185.000 (113.000 EUR then) to 210000 AUS$ it was passed through. The catalogue said it would originally have been a saloon by Gurney-Nutting.

This car was owned by Ray Delaney from 2001 to 2005.

Ray Delaney:
I had purchased the car from Ken Moir (Vic, Australia), who had acquired it from Dan Margulies (UK) circa 1978. I can confirm that the identification details on the car during my ownership were the following:

Reg No - 4.782 (Victoria)
Chassis No - PH1453
Engine No - HP382

"I knew this car in the 1960s when it was owned by Wally Nuttall of Peterborough. In fact I drove it in my first ever VSCC rally on 6th April 1968. Wally bought it from Colin Crabbe Antique Automobiles trading in his 2 litre Lagonda. He crashed it on the way home hence the rather poor condition at that time. It was sold to the owners of Bude Caravan park about 1969/70 with a broken back axle for £850. It was offered for sale completely rebuilt by Dan Margulies in Motor Sport March 1978. These two photos are from a Spanish Villa brochure from the mid 1960s."

"I found this photo of a Bentley ambulance driven by my Nan, Agnes Hibbs, in Havant, Hampshire during WW2. It's not my Nan in the photo. I believe this Bentley still exists, in Australia. I don't know if the current owner is aware of this part of the car's history."
