Invoice, 2005

Clare Hay email, 2010

VintageBentleys.org: We had initially attributed this red car to being chassis no. VA4077. Upon requesting clarification from EYT 970 owner Trevor Eastwood he shared a copy of the 2005 invoice for his car and also a 2010 email from Clare Hay on this matter. - Sep 15, 2016

~~
From Trevor Eastwood:
"Further to your enquiry re VA4077, I believe the photo you have as VA4077 is in fact VA4078. Both cars were owned by Reg Hunt of Melbourne Australia and I believe there was a clerical error in the catalogue at the time of sale.

See the attached documents. Reg told me at the time that he purchased VA4078 because it had the chassis number following that of his 4/8 special."

From Franco Weibel:
"Hay wrote in her e-mail from March 2010, that this is a quite complex story. However, in her 8-Litre Book released in 2011, in the description of GP 31 ch. no. YF5023, she summarizes the complex facts very clearly from where, when and by whom EYT970 got its engine and other parts (pages 106-109)."
