In 2005, BDC Western Australia organised the first Bentley Drivers International rally in Australia attracting 50 entrants from nine countries. They started with their rear wheels in the Indian Ocean and finished with their front wheels in the Pacific Ocean north of Sydney.

The car in the rear is Reg. No. GH 723. Photograph was taken in the Nullarbor Plains region of Western Australia.

More Info: According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 1621 with a maroon fabric/maroon paint body. Car was delivered in 1929.

But Vanden Plas also recorded in July 1930 that the same chassis was fitted with Body No. 1629 with a Sports for Olympia Show — actually a Saloon body; green/paint to match pigskin.

Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body no. 1621. Olympia show car. Burnt-out 1965. Rebuilt with Symonds tourer 10'10" WB. Engine modified to 8 Litre."
