1925 Bentley 3-Liter (Hotrod)
This custom built Bentley 3-liter is about the most imposing sleeper ever constructed. Built for 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' host Jay Leno, this stock looking 1925 Bentley 3-liter open top 2 door has been specially fitted with a custom made Bentley 8-liter engine. Already a powerful engine, the 8-liter Bentley I6 was bored and stroked to 8.3 liters (from 8-liters) and fitted with twin turbochargers. The already heavy construction of the motor required little structural rebuilding. The power numbers are huge, so big in fact that the car can actually twist its wheels WITHIN its tires. A similar Bentley, but with a heavier 8-liter chassis, was clocked at 172.5 mph and went from 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds. It would have had a higher top end if not for the poor aerodynamics that caused incredible lift tendencies at high speed.
