"The car was first registered to Capt. Vivian Hewitt who lived in Bodfari, Flintshire, North Wales at the time. DM being the Flintshire Registration prefix. He later moved to Bryn Aber, Cemlyn, Anglesey. He also spent a lot of time at his Nassau home in the Bahamas. A remarkable man in many ways — an aviator — test pilot, being the first to Fly from Mainland Britain to Ireland in April 1912. He owned a series of early cars which he raced at Brooklands. Very much an eccentric and avid collector of all manner of items. You can read his fascinating Biography: Modest Millionaire by Dr. William Howell.

My recollection of Bentley dates to 1965 (the year Capt. Hewitt died). The car had been in storage at Bryn Aber for many years and it was brought to my father's garage for recommissioning — I had the task of fitting a new set of tyres. The car was sold soon afterwards for the princely sum of ?7500. (?135.000 in today's money). I wonder where the car is now."

Radnor Concours D'Elegance 2008. This car is owned by Henry Petronis.

"I convinced Dad to show at Radnor (PA) this year. They've been after him for quite a few years. It was stinkin' hot — 92 degrees in the shade. Fortunately, we had a choice spot under the only tree on the field. Here we are next to Dad's 1931 8-litre Bentley."
