"Mechanical
restoration of a 7,000 mile original
VDP (1378) by Don Hurter and John
Hunt. Original owner W M Booth was
an Engineer working on a Hydro project
in Japan in the late 1920s. Car delivered
Japan Sept 1927 and did minimal mileage
there. Prior to the outbreak of WW
II Booth relocated to South America
and shipped car there. After retiring
from work in the 1950s he drove the
car from South America to Canada.
Don Hurter, another engineer, met
him at a conference, convinced him
to sell the car and drove it from
Canada to Boston where he laid it
up in his workshop. Upon retiring
in the late 1980s Don removed the
body, restored it mechanically with
the help of the late John Hunt and
Brian Fenn and showed it to many BDC
members at multiple seminars given
in the 1990s in his workshop. He did
get the chassis running but never
put back the body before losing interest.
ML 1502 still has less than 8,000
original miles and the body is all
original and unmolested right down
to the original hood canvas. Probably
the lowest mileage Vintage Bentley
extant." Paul Sydlowski,
