The car in above
photograph has been identified as
Chassis no. 590 by Phillip Schudmak.
Phillip says, "I understand that
this is actually a 3/4½ and
is chassis 590, owned by John Vallings
of Auckland for many years. He imported
it into New Zealand in the 1980s and
still has it. I understand the registration
number is now JV." — February

According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder
records, this car was originally fitted
with Body No. 1052 with a standard Sports
4-seater; broken white and red; 6/1924.
Michael Hay, in his book Bentley:
The Vintage Years, 1997, states:
"Vanden Plas body no. 1052. Reg
OAF 492 - in NZ 3474 ex ch. NX 3470." |
