"I have been approached by the old owner who has provided these wonderful old images of the Bentley on it's original Number plate 126 TW before it was shortened & re-registered as 32 HK.

His story...
Mr John Ambrose bought the car, actually as a pick up, in 1956 from a Major C.J Bendall, for £35, who ran a Vintage car dealership in Stevenage, Herts. He got the Bentley running and drove it back to our home town of Burnham on Crouch, in Essex, on trade plates. His Father ran a garage. He and his mates stripped the car down, cutting 14" from the chassis. It was he who re registered the car, being given the new Essex HK reg. The body was made up with steel tubing and sheet steel!. His Father bought him an old Bentley when he finished his National Service which we believe went on to be the Bentley in the 60's TV series, The Avengers.

Thanks to the powers of the internet & the situation caused by covid, a gentleman who was doing shopping for Mr Ambrose was chatting to a Mr Ambrose who wondered if his old Bentley was still around, David traced me through Vintage Bentleys & Facebook & provided these stunning old pics of the Bentley in its younger years Including a pick up format! You can almost smell the Bryl cream."
