"Notes: Assembled early 1950s from a shortened 1925 3 litre chassis and a 1928 4.5 litre engine.

Little is known about this car before the early 50s although the BDC might have some info. I am not a member and can't access their records. It seems this chassis was never registered in the UK.

As far as I can make out the car was put together in the UK and is made from several different cars and then went to Kenya in 1954. It has been shortened to 9ft 6 and is chassis number 1021. The Engine is a genuine 4.5 l and is number MF 3162. The Front axle has the number 411 stamped into it. The back axle is from the Marquis of Tavistock's 1924 3 litre and the gearbox is an A type. The firewall is not genuine Bentley and the Bodywork is a homemade affair but strong. It is now registered in the UK as SV 8909.

The car went to Kenya in 1954 and was registered KCD 720 to Gordon Baker, Nakuru then M.G. Williamson, Nakuru then Guy D'Olier. It was found in a barn by Roger Tanner and brought back to England in 2001 and is owned jointly by Roger and his brother.

There are several areas that could do with improvement, hence the price. Having said that it does go extremely well. I have rallied it in Holland and France as well as the UK after rewiring it, sorting the fuel system and it has had new brake drums and a total brake overhaul. It still has a cone clutch, which was relined."
